How to lose weight in a week

So you are wondering how to lose weight in a week? Maybe you have to go be part of a special event? maybe a party, maybe you are looking for a quick start for losing weight? Whatever the reasons are, I am writing this post to give you tips that help me to lose weight.  

There are five tips that will make you lose weight in one week.

1.- Day one, write down all the calories you eat in that day. Keep the number because is crucial to keep track of the calories you are ingesting during that day. Weight yourself and keep record of it as you will compare it with the weight you will achieve the next week. 

2.- The following day, cut down your daily intake by 500 calories of the total you had eaten the day before, and during the week, keep off the 500 Calories every day. It is important you cut more in carbs and fats than in fruits and veggies. Decreasing 500 Calories per day, results in 3500 Calories that your body will not stored, so in one week you will lose at least one pound of fat, which equals 3500 calories. 

3.- Split your three main meals into 5 smaller meals. Eating 5 smaller meals will accelerate your metabolism, and you will lose extra weight over  the cutting of the 500 calories.  But remember, the rule is "smaller meals". For example if you eat for breakfast eggs, orange juice with 2 slices or bread and jam, break it down and eat the eggs and orange juice and later eat 1 slice of bread with the jam. (remember you have to cut 500 Calories as well). 

4.- Increase your physical activity, preferable cardio exercises for example one hour walking or do some jogging or swim at least 30 minutes during  3 to 5 times a week. More you exercise, more weight you are going to lose. 

5.- Weight yourself the last day of the week. You will notice a big difference. If you stick to the plan, you will lose at least 3 pounds of weight, if you did less, like cheating or you did not exercise can be less, maybe just one, if you cut in Carbohydrates you will lose also water that your body storage when we eat them which can increase you total of weight loss.  But if you stick to change your life following this easy tips, You will keep losing weight in rate of 4 to 6 pounds per month and which makes at least 48 pounds per month.

To lose weight effectively, you should cut sugars and fats. Also white bread is not going to help you to lose weight. Try eating Whole grain bread and increase you intake of fruits and vegetables. 

Also do not drink alcohol, if you have a social compromise and you must to drink, choose vodka or scotch. Some beers are now low calories, like the Canadian 67,  which has less alcohol percentage. Sleeping is key as well. Sleep at least 8 hours so your body will have energy and will not store "food" or calories, as you put yor body in a low battery stage when you do not sleep. Our body love us and will not let us suffer. That is the reason you must sleep properly. 

If you are decide to lose weight, you will, just keep your will strong and stick to the results. Put in your mind you are able to do it and you will be even surprise that you are able to do it! so keep it up!  

Enlargement breast

Enlargement breast news: Well now there is a new technique that promises enlarge the breast of women by slapping them.

It is called Thailand Breast Slap and it creator is Khemmika na Songkhla. She claims has help to increase the size of the breast of thousands of women in Thailand with her technique that consist in slapping and massaging the tissue  of the upper chest pushing the fat to get stored into the breast. 

This technique seems to work as all the fat surrounding the breast get to there. Also after the customers have the therapy and get the results, they have to keep massaging to give mantainance to the breast as seem like the fats get to their  original storage. 

The technique,  Khemmika affirms, was tought by her grandmother. Still the Public Health Ministry of Thailand is reviewing and researching to conclude with its efectiveness.

Toe Fungal Infection

A high percentage ot the population suffers with onychomycosis  or toe fungal infection. Luckily, there are effective treatments  to treat the infections in the nails or toenails. 

The onychomycosis  is an infection caused by fungus that feed themselves with the keratin of the nails. The infection starts when the fungus, that initially live in the skin, move to the edge of the nails, where the dirt is deposited and with the help of the moist of the feet, the fungus start infecting the nail. 

It is common to for the big toe to be the first one to show the infection. 

The symptoms of the fungal infection are:

- The nail looks dusty and are easy to break.
- The nail becomes matted. 
- The color change from pink glossy to white or yellowish. 
-The nail become thicker.
-The nails show cracks.
- The edges look irregular 

The tips to avoid getting onychomycosis , the infection, are the following:

1.- Dry the feet after taking shower.
2.- Change the socks everyday and wear shoes with leather outsoles. 
3.- Use talcum powder on the feet and inside the shoes.
4.- Do not walk barefoot on the pools, public showers, public washrooms.

The treatments that truly work are the ones with medication  with terbinafine, itraconazol and fluconazol.  These medication has to be orally taken for period from 3 up to12 months,  depending the indication of the medical profesional. 

This infection is treatable and curable but it needs  to be treated  long-term scheme and consistently follow the treatment to get the results.  Also, it is important that once the infection is gone, the patient keeps a rigorous regime to avoid the re-infection and keep their feet clean and dry always.

Sexually Responsible

Being Sexually Responsible means practicing the responsibility in our sexual life as a very important aspect of human kind, as we are the ones that will get the benefits of it, reducing the rates of contagious STDs as well makes us feel more comfortable and we can enjoy better our sexuality without complications and worries. 

Eventhough we know the risks of STDs, many people do not take their sexual life very seriously. It is important to keep  our health, because an STD can create big complications as Infertility, spreading diseases and as well be the window of more fatal Sexual Transmitted Diseases as HIV and Human Papilloma Virus that ends the life of many women every year around the world. We have to take the resposibility of living in a society and prevent first ourselves and then others of spreading diseases. 

Many STDs are treatble with medications, but some of them stay with ourselves causing death. 

As man, ALWAYS use condom, do not say no to the condom as it is your shield against infections and risks, as well you will not have to worry everytime you have intercourse. 

As woman, always carry condoms as well, no matter what people say, parents do not be affraid to talk with your kids and always protectem, teens are having sex, protect them providing valuable information and if it is right with you make easy for them to get protection as condoms. 

The responsibility includes even whe you are the victim of STDs always inform to your partner so he/she can be checked and treated  and avoid the spreading of diseases. Do not feel ashame ever. We are humans, todays is for you, tomorrow is for me :)

Home remedies warts

Warts are caused by the HPV or Papiloma Virus  and that is why are very contagious.

The Warts or verrucas have different shapes and sizes and usually appear on the hands, fingers and sometimes in different parts of the body. This happens due the spread of the highly contagious warts when they are in contact with other parts of the body, for example another finger, or hand. 

There are a kind of warts that appear on the plantar fascia or on the foot and usually are extremely painful, causing problems while walking.

Home remedies warts are described below, it is important to say that avoid any of these remedies for Genital warts as the tissue in that area is more sensitive and it is better to visit a Health professional to treat them with the right Rx.

Remedy Number 1.- Rub a garlic on the wart or apply the juice of 4 garlic cloves.

Remedy number 2.- Make a knot with thread and keep it there until the wart dries up. Usually takes one day up to one week depending of the size of the Wart. 

Remedy number 3.- Tape the warts with four layers of glue tape. The principle of this is to dry up the wart. 

Remedy number 4.- Immerse the plantar warts in hot water every night and dry after.

Remedy number 5.- Apply vitamin E or Aloe vera on the wart.

Remedy number 6.- Apply fish oil and cover the wart with a bandage. 

Remedy number 7.- Apply a thick paste of Fish oil mixed with baking soda on the wart and cover it with a bandage.

8.- Remedy number 8.- Mix Ginger with a potato and add water, when you get a paste apply it on the wart and cover with tape during the night. Repeat it until the wart dissapear.

Remedy number 9.- Rub the wart with the own saliva every day.

These are some home remedies I collected, but it is always important to visit the doctor in case the wart looks suspicious  and might be Cancer.
When the person is diabetic and of course in case of Genital warts.

Clean face

There are many homemade recipes from natural ingredients that we can prepare to have a clean face and to help our skin to look refreshed, hydrated and younger.

Some recipes we can do at home are:

Exfoliation with granola.- Make a paste using half cup of granola mixed with     100 ml of hot water.  After you wash your face,  apply this paste  with a gentle and circular massage to remove all the death cells from the skin. Rinse the face with luke water (light warm water).

Exfoliation with sugar and olive oil.- Mix 1/4 cup of zugar and three tablespoons of olive oil. Apply over the body and proceed with a circular massage through the whole body while you take shower.

Skin Exfoliation with Honey and oatmeal.- Mix 1/4 cup of oatmeal with a spoon of honey. After washing your face, skin still wet, apply the mix and leave it aproximately 15 minutes. Rinse with luke water.

Butter milk and salt can help to reduce the size of the pores. Make a paste with the buttermilk and salt.   Wash your face and  still wet apply the paste with  gentle circular massage on the face to remove the deep dirt.

Shiny Hair

Every type of hair needs conditioner to looks hydrated and soft, healthy and shiny. Sometimes is not enough with the commercial products to have the beautiful and healthy hair that every woman deserves. Sometimes even depending in our mood, or hormone levels, as well diet our hair may look great or horrible, but you can use a homemade recipe to help your hair to recover from all the damage our hair suffers due to environment, pollution, stress and bad diet habits.

 You can make your own homemade conditioner, organic and chemical-free and help you to enjoy of a beautiful and shiny hair. The basic ingredients are HONEY and OLIVE OIL.

You just need two tablespoons of Honey and one tablespoon os Olive Oil; mix both ingredients and apply the mix on the hair and massage it. Leave the mix about 30 minutes and continue to rinse your hair. Do this procedure once per week and your hair will look   healthy and shiny.

Walking calories

The benefits of walking calories are more than you probably think. Walking helps you to improve the absortion of oxygen in your cells, and your body releases toxic CO2 or Carbon Dioxide. Because your body needs more oxygen while performing aerobic activity, your lungs compensate it accelerating the breathing, faster and deeper. When people is fitted, the body can use mor efficiently the oxygen absorbed by each breath so people do not feel fatigue as people non-fitted.

While you walk, your brain produces the chemical that makes us feel good and happy, including endorphins making us relaxed, which can help people that suffers of some kind of depression or stress.

Walking helps to improve the muscle mas in our bodies. You activate muscles that are not use to move, which will help to lose weight and build muscles to avoid future injuries or pain.

Menstruation pain

Menstrual pain, menstruation pain is a problem that just a few women are pain free while menstruating but  for most every women, the discomfort goes from lightly to a nightmare.

Some women experience the menstruation as a disease, suffering fever, strong pain, cramps, making those days a real torture.

There are many natural remedies that can help you to decrease the symptoms.

You can increase the amount of food rich in calcium and increment the intake a few days before to the cycle, which can help to calm down the pain provoque by cramps.

Exercise is excelent to make our body feel much better because help to increase the blood circulation, muscles are tenseless and the pain due to menstruation can decrease significantly when women do exercise. Specific exercises  to help you fight the pains and aches due to the menstruation are:

1.- Stand on your 4 limbs, lift up your butt, keep your arms straight and legs in a 90 degrees position. Take deep breath and hold the abs as much as you can. Repeat this exercise 10 times.
2.- Liying on you back next to a wall, put your feet on the wall and lift your core, holding as much as you can. Relax 3 minutes and repeat.

It is very important that women enjoy their sexual life. Experts affirm that women that have a satisfactory sexual life have less pain during their periods. Experiencing orgasms is a way to contract the uterus and the menstruation can be pain free.
Use hot compress in case of pain, you can add 3 tablespoons of ginger in a big pot of boiling water. Apply to relax the abdominal muscles.

Now you can calculate BMI formula, and find out your ideal weight in a easy way. To calculate your Body Mass Index you need to follow the next formula:

BMI= YOUR WEIGHT/(your HEIGHT)2

where
YOUR WEIGHT is in kilograms
your HEIGHT in meters

Once you got the number,  we have to compare to the table of values of BMI:

A BMI under 18 is a weight under the normal.
A BMI between 18 and 24.5 is a normal weight
A BMI over 25 to 30 means overweight
A BMI between 30 to 34.9 is considered first grade of Obesity.
A BMI between 35 and 39.9 is second grade obesity (pre-mortem)
A BMI over 40 is considered Obesity in fourth dregree and cause of death.

However we have to know these are orientative numbers. But an easy way to find out if your weight is the right for you in general terms.

To have a happy and healthy sexual life, it is important that every women practices minimun measures of hygiene.

There are two important aspects to note: Health and Pleasure. When we talk about sexual health, we have to be responsible of our bodies. When you are with a partner, is very important the trust and in case trust fails is possible to have a spread of STDs, from the easy ones to cure to the dangerous ones as AIDS or HPV.  About the simple or curable ones, it is important to take complete responsibility and treat the diseases because some of the curable STDs can cause infertility in case is not treated on time.

Sometimes women do not feel  completely comfortable with our partners because we are afraid  that our partners will perceive bad odours and the reality is that we live already with a lot of stress, most of the times is hard to have a chance to find an available spot to share with our partners so we cannot have time to think about factors that can decrease or libido or sexual behavior if we can avoid them.

As a female is very important to take conscious about our vaginal hygiene, keep a healthy vagina and you will not have to worry about small things. following the next recommendations to avoid the stress in sexual moments:

- Avoid sinthetic fabrics when wearing lingerie, it can cause infections, excess of sweat and other fluids.
- The semen has a Alcaline PH level which produces in the female genitalia a higher risk to get infections as Candida Albicans (yeast infection). Try to protect yourself with condoms.

Causes of cervical cancer

The risk to develop cervical cancer is five times higher in women that do not go under medical tests as the pap smear and colposcopy. In the world, a woman dies every two minutes cause this disease.

The causes of cervix cancer are in  reality correlated to the previous development of  HPV. This Virus is related to the developing of cervical cancer. And what is HPV? HPV types 16 and 18 together cause about 70 percent of cervical cancers. It is important to note, however, that the great majority of high-risk HPV infections go away on their own and do not cause cancer 

The HPV is a virus transmitted by sexual contact, skin contact with a infected person, and the penetration is not necessary to get the virus. It is also known that many of the HPV kinds will be washed from the body, because the immune system mechanism of defense, but we have to take a closer look in case we got the cancer-cause kind. Our duty with our bodies is to be checked every year, and keep a closer look to our health.

It is important to say that now, there are vaccines against some of the Cancer types of HPV. The vaccines are design to be use by teen girls and women under 26 years of age. Visit your doctor to obtain more information about it and get vaccinated.

Sleep bra

For many years, many articles will point as links of breast cancer diet and not practicing exercise as some of the most important causes of breast cancer.

When the Brand and breast Cancer Studio, revealed that breast  cancer patients had a history of use of tight bras and wore them a for a longer period of time comparing with women that did not develop the disease. Women with breast cancer used to wear the bras more than 12 hours per day.

The relation of tight bras and breast cancer can be explained while using a tight bra, the breast is oppressed and the liquids in the breast start to accumulate instead of keep the circulation to the lymphatic nodes, and it is when the tissue gets softer and the chance to get tumors increase. This is because our body eliminates toxins through the lymphatic system but the breast being oppressed cannot eliminate the toxins, cannot clean itself and woman get all the bad stuff accumulate in the breast.

However, there are brands that offer bras designed as sleep bra, and which ones are loose and comfortable and they do not have the under wire., of course this is for women that just do not feel comfortable sleeping without bra, as the breast can be deform. So it is up to up to and please  avoid sleeping with tie bra.

Sleep good

Many  people is suffering of insomnia or experiencing problems trying to fall asleep. Here are some tips that will help you to sleep good:

First, you have to get a good mattress, a mattress that makes your body feel comfortable, soft for your body and at the same time firm that can support your spine. The ones made of memory foam are excellent. If you sleep with your partner, having a mattress that provides independent support for each person is better, as you do not awake while your partner is moving or standing up.

Try to have dinner at least 3 or 4 hours before going to bed, avoid caffeine and carbonate drinks. Exercise and alcohol can increase your activity, so it can make harder conceive sleep. Avoid them at least 2 hours before you go to bed.

Choose a good position to sleep, back, or on your side. If you have back problems, place pillow under your knees in case you sleep on your back and between your knees if you do it on your side. This will help to keep your spine not tense while you lying down.

Do not use computer, or read e-books or watch TV, one hour before you go to bed. If you want to relax and fall asleep faster, you can drink warm milk or  eat just lettuce ( this is the only food allow).

And while you lie on the bed, and you cannot sleep start deep breathing, to relax, sometimes we have many things to our mind, thinking how to fix something, new ideas, so try to relax and deep breath, you will fall asleep.

Antioxidants foods

What are the antioxidants? They are molecules that we can find in food and are able to stop the cellular oxidation, prevent from diseases and stop the aging signs of our organs. The antioxidants make make better our quality of life.

There are many reasons why our cells get overused. One of those it is due to the action of free radicals that are molecules that travel  through our body trying to get an electron  of healthy molecules to be stabilize, but increasin the potential of chain reactions that destroy other cells. This radicals exist due our bad diet, stress, pollution,  smoking cigarrettes, drugs or alcohol.

Adding a diet with high antioxidants will help to slow the aging process and decrease the radicals in our body.

Antioxidants foods are described below:

1.- Vitamin E.- Protect the cells from the pollution, pesticides, tobacco. You can find it in vegetable oils, soy, corn, sunflower, nuts, seeds, whole wheat, integral rice, oatmeal, soy, sweet potato, grains, vegetables with green leaves.

2- Vitamin C.- This one has a high antioxidant capacity. Citrics and juices, strawberries and blueberries, sparragus,  green peppers, Broccoli, red pepper, tomatoes and its juices, pineapple, mangoes and guava are important sources of Vitamin C.

3.- Vitamin A.- you can find it in dark orange, red, yellow and green colour vegetables as broccoli, spinach, carrots, green and red peppers, peach, nectarine, cantalope and mangoes.

4.- Capsaicin.- You can find it in hot chillies, garlic and peppers.

5.- Carotene.- Alfa and Beta are antioxidants. Sources: Carrots, tomatoes, orange, papaya and spinach.

6.- Quercetin.- Strong antioxidant that can be found in fruits and vegetables as grapes, red onion, apples, cherries, green tea and grapefruit.

7.- Isoflavines.- Allied against cardiovascular disease, ostheoporosis and cancers depending in hormones. Sources: Soy.

8.- Tannins.- Strong antioxidants. Sources: Crab, oysters, meat and dry fruits.

9.- Isothiocyanates.- Suppress the growth of tumors stopping the production of enzymes. Sources: Pumpkin, Cabbage, Mustard and beetle.

10.- Catechins.- Antioxidants and active the metabolism. Sources: Green tea and cacao.

11. Ellagic Acid.- Antioxidant and hemostatic properties some countries use this acid as food supplement with the antitumoral property. Sources: Strawberries, raspberries, cherries and kiwis.

Keep an eye in your diet to keep your body strong, healthy and young. Fight the radicals!

Eat calories

If your want to know how to eat calories here it goes the solution:

The only way to eat calories is stop eating fatty food and change your lifestyle.  Your body is going to start eating all the fat  in it. When you stop suppling fatty food, your body will crave for it and it will start eating it from your body.

If you keep  your body active like making healthier choices as  walking instead of driving, jogging and practicing some sport during the weekends, it can be helpful to a  diet reduced in fats  and will help to stabilize  your metabolism to  not get stuck in the elimination of the body fat.

My recommendation is add to your diet food that can fulfill your hunger, as lettuce salad but not with ranch or caesar dressing, instead you can use vinagrette or lime/lemon juice.

Look to eat at least 5 vegetables/fruits per day but be careful when  you chose them. Some fruits can have many calories so try to avoid them, for example avocado, mangoes or bananas. Better try apples, cucumber, carrots, all green leaves plants, watermelon, grapes.

Your have to give food to your muscles, so you have to eat proteins everyday which will help to keep burning fat. But you have to be smart and make the right choices. You must eat lean meat like chicken breast or any  kind of beef without fat.  Avoid all deep fried food.

Keep your body hydrated so please drink 2 liters of water everyday so you can eliminate the fat through the urine. As a woman, I widely recommend you to keep drinking Milk, a glass of SKIM MILK everyday and one glass of orange juice. Between meals,  if you feel hungry try to eat an apple to fill your anxiety for eating.

Instead of eggs, you can buy in the supermarket eggwhites and they really help you to cut some calories in the breakfast, and instead of bacon try to eat turkey breast and do not forget to eat one slice of  multi-grain bread to give you energy.

Drink Green Tea (withing the 2 lts of water consumption per day), that helps you to keep awake in case your sugar levels go down and you feel down, because your are cutting all the bad stuff from your body.

There are many ways how to chance you lifestyle. If you can stop buying fast-food you will be able to save money and to eat healthier! So do it! If I did it you can do it too! In the end you will get used to this new life.

The hard part comes the first week. After that you will notice results and you will stick to your new lifestyle.

Fat abs

Your health depends of the kind of belly you have. Men storage fat in their middles and the studies show that concentration of fat in the abs increases significantly the risk of heart disease, stroke, diabetes and some types of cancer.

The issue  with fat abs starts when the fat is storage not just in the abs but between the visceral tissue/organs which increases the risk of inflammation in the body. 

This is why it is very important get rid off the abdominal fat. First step is paying attention in the diet. Avoid Trans-fats. Look for  your basal metabolism and how many calories you are suppose to eat according with your size and weight, and try to burn calories at least 400 Kcal, 5 times per week, so you are going to be able to eliminate that visceral fat from your body and keep your health for longer time. 



Sodium daily

The recommended sodium daily intake is less than 2300 milligrams of sodium, which is equivalent that is less than a teaspoon of salt.

It is extremely important that every individual take care of the consumption of sodium because an excess of this substance in the body increases the rate of high blood pressure, retainment of water and can increase heart disease.

Always read the total of sodium in the canned products as well packed ones. Try to buy the products that have written in the labels low sodium or sodium free. At home you must taste the food before start shaking the salt over the food before trying it. A good substitute of salt is spices, you can add black pepper, herbs, lemon, lime juice, ginger, garlic, onion, wine to avoid the use of salt.

You will taste the difference of the food without salt and you will appreciate much better the natural taste of the food.

Orange juice

The benefit of drinking orange juice is that it boosts our immune system because it contains water and lots of fiber as well beta-carotene which our body converts in Vitamin C and helps to protect the collagen of our skin, and help us to improve our digestive system.

The best is to drink a glass of orange juice every morning but natural. Drink the juice of 4 oranges in the morning right after you squeeze it because the beta-carotenes disappear after a few minutes from the standing orange juice, because the Vitamin C is very sensitive to oxidation. If you can handle being more drastic you can add a small piece of ginger or onion and leave it rest for a few hours. The syrup you get will be more effective to cut the cough. 1.- Try to stay cool.- You can rotate cold compresses over the severe sunburn to decrease the heat and soothe skin.
2.- Avoid hot shower, because can increase the pain due the sensitivity of the skin. Take cold shower or bath and if you have excessive pain, take Aspirine.
3.- Do not pop any blister  if you have. This action can increase the pain, get infected and leave scars.
4.- You can look for a lotion that contains Aloe Vera to refresh your skin and Vitamin E to accelerate the healing of the skin and keeps a nice look after. Any product you apply, do not rub it, just apply it and leave to your skin to absorb. Better products the ones in spray form.
